Description
SHOREWOOD, WI — After an influx of calls to the Shorewood Department of Public Works about spoiled food disposal, the department announced details for a disposal site.
Many residents called to be added to the DPW's "missed garbage" route, according to a news release. Up to 60 missed garbage stops were added. The large amounts of spoiled food comes after storms left thousands of Wisconsin residents, many in the Milwaukee area, without power for days.
To assist other residents that may face the same problem, food waste will be accepted as drop-offs 8 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturday at the DPW facility, located at 3801 Morris Blvd in Shorewood.
No fees will apply, but household waste such as furniture and electronics will not be accepted.
