Suspect In Custody After Woman Found Fatally Shot In Car

CLEARWATER, FL — Clearwater homicide detectives have taken a person into custody in connection with the homicide of a woman found fatally shot in a car off Otten Street and Weston Drive. Clearwater police received a report of a shooting at 3:12 p.m. Friday. Ten minutes later, they discovered the body of a woman inside a car in the 1700 block of Townsend Street. Police apprehended and questioned a suspect found in a retention pond a few streets over from where the car was abandoned. The suspect was taken into custody around 8 p.m. No names have been released yet.
