Beverly Police Complete Move To New Elliott Street Station

BEVERLY, MA — After years of being cramped in their Cabot Street headquarters, Beverly police have a new home on Elliott Street. Police completed the move on Thursday with the new station becoming fully operational late in the afternoon. The former Cabot Street location is now closed and those needing assistance are asked to go to the front door of the new station. "We are excited that our police department is now in their new home, a long-needed facility that will serve the public safety needs of our community well for decades to come," Beverly Mayor Mike Cahill said in a message to the community. The three-story station fully replaces the Cabot Street one built 83 years ago and consolidates a department spread out across multiple buildings because of the small size of the former headquarters. A grand opening for the new station is being planned for September. Plans for the $20 million project began with designing and development in 2019. Did you find this article useful?
