STRATFORD, CT — Mayor Laura Hoydick announced Thursday that she is reinstating the requirement for wearing face masks for all staff and visitors to Stratford Town Hall regardless of vaccination status. Employees in Town Hall will be required to wear masks in common areas, as will all visitors entering Town Hall, even if they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The reinstatement of the policy is effective Friday, Aug. 13. Two Town Hall employees have tested positive for COVD-19, and in accordance with town policy they have been required to not report to the office and quarantine according with CDC guidance, according to Hoydick. "With the resurgence of COVID-19 and the delta variant, and in consideration of these positive results for two town employees, we will exercise an abundance of caution and require Town Hall staff and visitors to wear masks in common areas, even if fully vaccinated, until further notice," Hoydick said in a statement. Hoydick noted that employees have additionally been reminded to monitor for symptoms, seek a test if they experience symptoms, and not to report to work if they are experiencing symptoms.
