JERSEY CITY, NJ — After being canceled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, Free Comic Book Day is back for 2021. And the Jersey City Free Public Library plans to join the festivities. Free Comic Book Day is Saturday, August 14 this year. It's usually on the first Saturday in May, this year's Free Comic Book Day marks the 20th anniversary of the now-ubiquitous event, which strives to raise awareness about the medium and bring new fans into the fold. Jersey City library branches will be celebrating the event on both Saturday and Monday.
