MANCHESTER, NH - A Brooklyn, New York man on parole for murder was arrested after police say he committed multiple felony-level crimes in Manchester.
James Odam, 44 from Brooklyn was taken into custody without incident at 106 Putnam Street Thursday.
Odam was wanted for a parole violation warrant out of New York and was also accused of several crimes he allegedly committed in Manchester.
Odam was charged with Criminal Threatening with a Deadly Weapon and Felon in Possession of a Dangerous Weapon for an incident outside the Red Arrow on August 7th Police say in that incident, Odam is accused of confronting a woman outside the restaurant and threatened her. Odam lifted up his shirt, exposing a firearm.
Odam was also charged with First Degree Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Attempted) and Felon in Possession of a Dangerous Weapon for a June 5, 2021 incident in which Odam allegedly got into an argument with someone outside the Pericles Club on Spruce Street and then fired a gun at him.
"Let this be a warning to criminals who come to the city of Manchester, you will not be able to hide here," said Chief Allen Aldenberg. "Committing crimes in this city will not be tolerated and the Manchester Police Department will work diligently to find and arrest these offenders. This arrest is a direct result of our tireless efforts to fight gun crime in the Queen City, we are thankful for the excellent collaboration we have with other law enforcement partners in this initiative."
