Another bike was stolen from the same park Monday. It was a gray and black Specialized, valued at $500. Graffiti was found on a building Friday in the 800 block of West Arlington Avenue. A catalytic converter was stolen Thursday from one of the vehicles belonging to Second Baptist Church, 26 Washington Ave. Over the last year, the metals in catalytic converters have become a lot more valuable. Jennifer Parker, 48, of El Paso, Illinois, was cited Tuesday in the 2600 block of California Avenue on charges of failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving with a suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident. According to a police report, she was involved in an accident with vehicle damage and left the scene about 10:30 a.m. Aug 2. Through an investigation, an officer determined she was the driver and charged her while she was already in custody for a previous outstanding warrant from another town. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
