DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A 2016 Lincoln Continental was stolen from the driveway of a home in Downers Grove, according to a recent police report. The incident took place in the 500 block of Sherman Street. The owner told police they parked their car in the driveway and left the keys inside around 11 p.m. on Aug. 8. When they returned to the driveway around 9 a.m. the following morning, they noticed the car had been stolen. This car theft comes amid a rash of vehicle burglaries reported in Downers Grove. Police say 10 cars were burglarized between Aug. 6 and Aug. 9. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Downers Grove Police Department at 630-434-5600.
