BEVERLY HILLS, CA —Nicki Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, are being sued for allegedly harassing and intimidating a woman Petty was convicted of attempting to rape in high school, The New York Times reported. According to TMZ, Petty was arrested in March 2020 for failing to register as a California sex offender. He now is registered under an address in Calabasas on the Megan's Law website, California's registered sex offender database. After the 2020 arrest, Petty's victim Jennifer Hough and her family were contacted by individuals claiming to work with Minaj and Petty offering money and showing up at her home, according to the lawsuit accessed by The New York Times. The couple wanted Hough to recant her accusations against Petty according to the lawsuit. Hough said she refused. "If I lie now and say that I lied then, you know what that does?" she told the New York Times. "Do you know what that's going to say to my two little girls, or even my sons?" When she was 16 in 1994, Hough told police that Petty, who was also 16, raped her at knifepoint. Petty ended up pleading to attempted rape and served more than four years in prison, the Times reported. The lawsuit also says that Hough has been suffering from "depression, paranoia, constant moving, harassment and threats," since May 2020. Minaj's legal representation did not respond to requests for comment from The New York Times, and Petty's lawyer declined to comment.
