Description
About this Position SeeScan is seeking a Master Production Scheduler who will be responsible for developing the company’s master production plan to satisfy customer demand while carrying optimal inventory levels. In this position, you will provide a monthly production plan consistent with our production capacity and sales forecast. Your keen attention to detail, enterprise-level thinking, and previous experience in production scheduling will help us in our mission to create the world’s best plumbing diagnostic and utility location equipment and continue our growth. Our company culture Working at SeeScan is unlike working for other companies of our size. While we have the stability of a larger company—we’ve been in business for nearly 40 years and sell our products worldwide—the SeeScan environment feels like a smaller, tight-knit community. Absent of typical corporate culture, we care more about what you do than what you are called, and we want you to share our mission of constantly improving the way we do things. We’ll give you the tools and resources you need to succeed, and we want you to show us how it’s done! What we’re looking for Across our organization, we’re looking for people who want to solve big challenges to make the world a better place. Whether you’re designing the latest tech, building our products on the production floor, or keeping our business running and profitable, we want people who approach problems with a can-do attitude and who are eager to be part of a team. Our goal is to create the best products in our industries and continue our trend of sustainable growth – not to line shareholders’ pockets. That means we’re interested in hiring people who are eager to work somewhere long-term and who share our values of continuous learning, community, and fairness. In this position, you will • Create a rolling 3-month master production plan for designated products utilizing production capacity, and taking into consideration sales forecast, historical sales, and new business opportunities • Analyze and identify risks associated with the options built into the master production plan, including manufacturing lead times • Perform supply-demand analysis, highlighting areas of concern and coordinating efforts with Purchasing and Supply Chain • Ensure coordination with production schedulers to execute the production plan on a weekly and monthly basis • Develop inventory targets and manage production to achieve targeted inventory levels • Maintain finished goods inventory at target levels to ensure high service levels, i.e. product availability • Monitor actual output versus the master production plan • Identify gaps and drive solutions on production performance relative to the requested production schedule • Review sales forecast with management on a monthly basis and suggest modifications consistent with knowledge of current or historical demand About you • Excellent problem solver and analytical thinker • Strong communication and presentation skills • Solid negotiation skills with the ability to reason and influence at all levels • Ability to manage complexity and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities Desired skills and experience This is a sampling of the type of skills and experience we’d like to see in our ideal candidate. If you don’t check off all the boxes, that’s okay – we’re more interested in hiring someone who will be the right fit for our community and who demonstrates the capability to learn. • Demonstrated experience in a Production Scheduler role • Experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity, and efficiency measurements • Experience using MRP / ERP systems, especially Microsoft Dynamics AX • Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand, and replenishment processes • Proficient in MS office applications • Bachelor’s degree About SeeScan Modern life depends on the infrastructure that brings water, electricity, gas, and communications to our homes and businesses. SeeScan’s mission is to deliver the highest quality products that protect these vital services. We are an original equipment manufacturer in San Diego, CA that builds diagnostic and utility locating equipment from the ground up, from initial product conception to prototyping, testing, and final assembly. We have a sense of ownership of SeeScan’s success and a shared commitment to continuous improvement.
