Can't protect Afghanistan forever but we can protect Japan, S. Korea and all of Western Europe forever (70+ years) with our military & bases in their countries. Why do you think Afghanis are less worthy, got a problem with brown skinned people I guess.
The U.S. has no business in the Middle East. We have never had any business there. There were never Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq. Factions in the Middle East have been fighting each other for thousands of years. We have no understanding of their situation. The U.S. needs to stop trying to be the cops ofd the planet. Thank God Biden understands that. We have trained and armed Afghanistan to defend itself. They are mentally unprepared and I intimidated by the Taliban. That is on them. We can to protect them forever.
We have our own issues and violence to solve at home. The Trillion dollar that we spent in Afghanistan would have gone a long way in reducing violence in America.
