We are seeking an experienced, qualified and dynamic leader to develop, grow and operate our construction projects division in Northern Virginia. This role spends time in the field, in the office and at the customer premise. The position drives revenue through customer service and sales and is responsible for overseeing technicians and subcontractors. The position will also have some fieldwork responsibilities. The general duties include: Develop, operate and grow the construction projects division for House Doctors Aggressively seek new business though networking, material suppliers, subcontractors, property management companies, Interior Designers, retirements homes, nursing homes, businesses, etc. Prepare precise estimates and submit estimates in professional manner to customer for construction jobs such as remodeling bathrooms, kitchens, basements, and decks. Will also provide estimates for handyman jobs Manages, observes, evaluates and documents technician, subcontractor and project performance to ensure, quality, compliance with specifications, customer satisfaction, and profitability. Completes performance logs for projects and employees. Schedule projects, material delivery, equipment, locates and other related construction services and assign and schedule crews and subcontractors Implement and enforce all safety requirements Enforce company policies and ensure technicians follow House Doctors procedures Maintain excellent communications and relations and provide information to House Doctors staff, subcontractors and customers Ensure customers receive required paperwork and documentation Prepare weekly goals and summary reports for crew and project performance, new business contacts, estimates, sales, etc. Participates in employee and subcontractor recruiting and terminations Assist technicians on occasion Core Skills/Competencies Construction aptitude in the areas of bathroom and kitchen renovation, basement remodeling, decks, and general knowledge of handyman services related to carpentry, painting, drywall repairs, deck repairs, plumbing, electrical, etc. Strong sales aptitude and able to build revenue Ability to schedule and manage projects and people and ensure quality, profitability and safety Leadership skills including (a) demonstrating respect; (b) coaching new and existing employees in technical, work habit, and interpersonal skills; (c) promoting a culture of professionalism and respect of self and others at House Doctors while achieving project goals and deliverables Ability to evaluate technical performance, work habits, and potential of employees and subcontractors. Recommend and evaluate corrective action as needed. Efficiently determine employee fitness/unfitness for continued relationship with House Doctors A demonstrated commitment to safety Ability to motivate team and track and measure staff performance and utilization Strong interpersonal skills, organizational and problem solving Excellent written and verbal communication in English required. Spanish is a plus Strong organization and problem solving skills Self-motivated and ability to work one-on-one, as a team and independently Familiar with work management software and competent in MS Outlook, Excel, and Word Willing and competent to take on additional duties as needed Performance Evaluation Metrics: Estimating and sales Profitability of remodeling jobs, Customer satisfaction (as measured by survey) Number of Safety incidents and safety inspections Job Type: Full-time Experience: Residential Construction: 5 years (Required). Alternate: 3 years construction experience and civil engineering or technical construction bachelor’s degree from accredited U.S. University. Minimum two years progressive supervisory/management experience in residential construction (Required) Education: High school degree (Required). AA or Bachelor’s degree (Preferred) Required License: Valid Driver’s License (Required). Class A or B Virginia construction license (Preferred). Required Certification: 30-Hour OSHA or ability to obtain upon hire (Required). Mold Remediation certification (preferred) Required Work Hours: 40 to 50 hours per week, varying by season.
