Texas Area Telecom is looking for six entry level drafters ready to expand their skills with a growing firm! Seeking motivated entry-level CAD drafters in Austin using AutoCAD, Excel, Adobe, and Microsoft Office. The selected individual will be responsible for drafting duties for various types of telecom projects in a productive, team environment. Responsibilities will include plan production, utility layouts and design, redlines, and general drafting. Willingness to learn and the desire to grow are a must. The first 2-3 weeks of the job is completing software training from home. This work pays a training wage. Once training is complete and the exam is passed, pay jumps significantly. Job details: Pay: $14-$18 Job Type: Full-time Number of hires for this role: 6 Qualifications: Reliable transportation to and from work. High school diploma or equivalent. • This position will utilize AutoCAD and other design software to create fiber and permit drawings that include point A to Point B drawings for telecom fiber line design. All drawings will be 2D based. Some drawings will require placement of existing utilities • Creation of base maps including page layouts and match lines • Draft designs following a strict set of rules and guidelines Schedule: 8 hour shift (30 minute lunch break) Monday thru Friday Overtime - possible Position is in-person after training is complete, work is in-office at our Austin Location.
