Description
I know you’re out there: A group of players who get together regularly to just play. The drum kit is permanently set up in the basement or garage; the amps are ready to be turned on, the guitars are ready to be plugged in. You play covers of the songs that bring you joy, the songs from your teen-age and young adult years – classic rock, grunge, new wave, hair metal. You play because it’s fun to play, because you sound good, because making music is the best way you can think of to spend your time. You’re not looking to play out, to tour Japan, or to be the house band at the local bar; maybe a Labor Day picnic performance for the families. You just want to PLAY.
But even though you sound great, the sound is… thin. You need a bass player.
I’m that guy. I consider myself a competent intermediate player -- not flashy, but solid. I learn my parts, show up on time and set up fast, have a good sense of tempo and song structure, lock in with the drummer, and I love music as much as you do. I’m willing to learn your playlist. I’m available for weekly practice, evenings or weekends. I live in SE Denver and will make the drive. I don’t sing; I play bass.
Some of my favorite play-along songs: Crazy Train, Ah Leah, Pulling Mussels (From a Shell), Red Barchetta, Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl), Here It Goes Again, Radio Radio, Stacy’s Mom, everything on London Calling.
And since it’s the age of contagion (for now): You’re all vaccinated. Just gotta put that out there.
