Description
We inherited 6 year old Sassy from a friend's mother who passed away, it was a hoarder situation and she was in bad shape when we got her. She was malnourished, weighing a little over a pound, and had rotting teeth that was so bad it rotted some of her jaw. She is now almost 2lbs and has had surgery to remove the few teeth she had left that was causing infection, she has a bit of a deformity from the infection causing her tongue to hang out. She can eat soft dog food and the deformity hasn't caused any issue with her being able to eat. She is a very sweet, active, and affectionate dog, she loves to cuddle. We were told she was spade but have no proof of that, the vet we took her to doesn't know, but said it would be unnecessary because she was too small to get pregnant and at her size they wouldn't want her to go thru that kind of surgery.
We are very torn about not keeping her, but we already had a dog and it has caused behavioral issues in our dog with her there. Sassy would do well with someone that may be a stay a home person or an older person, to get the attention she needs. And we think a home without pets already would be a perfect situation for her due to her being timid and skittish around other dogs, I think the situation she came from was a bit traumatic for her. She is up to date on shots and has a plan thru the end of the year to be seen or get any other shots she may need at North paw in Durham. Please only serious inquiries please.
