Any musicians interested in NOT doing classic rock hits?

Yeah I know. Not likely. But I thought I'd try this message in a bottle type ad. Throwing it out into the sea of classic rock musicians who play nothing but the same old classic rock hits in the same old dive bars in front of tens of drunk fans who know crap about music. ENOUGH ALREADY! LEARN SOMETHING NEW! (Even if it is old, if you've never heard it, it's new to you, right?) And do you really have to play for stingy bar owners to feel good about playing music? I could give a crap less about crappy gigs in crappy bars for crappy owners anymore. I've had my fill of that. I'm an old bass player looking for anyone (but especially drummers) interested in playing mainly early 70's, mostly British, progressive blues rock. Savoy Brown, Wishbone Ash, Humble Pie, Spooky Tooth, Procol Harum and Uriah Heap. Or lessor known American bands like Captain Beyond, Cactus and Moby Grape. Or lesser know songs by famous artists. There is so much awesome music that's all but forgotten. But I'm open to others musical tastes; R&B, funk, soul, folk rock, pop rock, hell, even disco (on a limited basis, ha) if you want. Original music also. But sorry, no country. Maybe a little country rock. If it's more rock than country. Yeah, this is a bit of a rant. I know very few people will read this and even less will agree with it. It's mainly just my frustration boiling over. Ignore it. Go back to playing for your few buddies who show up at your gigs and tell you how good you are. You don't already know you're good? I'm looking for good, seasoned but probably jaded and cynical musicians sharing a good time playing music, camaraderie and even sharing pot luck meals or whatever. Maybe a brew or two around 4:20. Wanna play for your friends at a party or bbq? That's the kind of gig I could get into. Ok, I feel better now. A little. I'd feel better if I could find like minded musicians. Help! You don't have to come to me. I will come to you. If you're not too far away. I've driven to Dallas for most of my band experience. Not willing to do that anymore.
