Plan, direct, or coordinate, usually through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. Participate in the conceptual development of an excavation project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. Includes managers in specialized excavation and or construction fields, such as heavy equipment operators, skilled laborers and pipelayers or any other general laborers. JOB TASK Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems. • Negotiate project specifications. Plan, schedule, or coordinate construction project activities to meet deadlines. • Develop operating strategies, plans, or procedures. • Manage construction activities. Direct and supervise construction or related workers. • Supervise employees. Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports. • Prepare financial documents, reports, or budgets. Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, or other regulations. • Determine operational compliance with regulations or standards. Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with environmental regulations. • Evaluate green operations or programs for compliance with standards or regulations. Plan, organize, or direct activities concerned with the construction or maintenance of structures, facilities, or systems. • Manage construction activities. • Direct facility maintenance or repair activities. Determine labor requirements for dispatching workers to construction sites. • Estimate labor requirements. Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods. Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites to ensure that proper construction procedures are being followed. • Investigate industrial or transportation accidents. • Determine operational compliance with regulations or standards. implement new or modified plans in response to delays, bad weather, or construction site emergencies. • Manage construction activities. Requisition supplies or materials to complete construction projects. • Purchase materials, equipment, or other resources. Direct acquisition of land for construction projects. • Request >Purchase materials, equipment, or other resources. SKILLS > Abilities > Responsibilities • This job description is not intended to be all–inclusive. The employee may perform other related duties as requested to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. • Ability to lift or move 25lbs frequently, and on occasion up to 100lbs. • Applicant must have a minimum of three Years prior work-related experiences as a foreman. • Experience in installing water, sewer and storm drain main lines would be a requirement. • Able to read blueprints / plans and grade sheets, must be able to set manholes and storm drains. • Ability to learn and use Leica GPS efficiently. • Use company software to manage filed time and job > B2W<. Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation. • Operate heavy equipment if needed in compliance with the company’s operating safety policies and procedures. • Keep job on time and budget. • Lead and supervise crew safely and efficiently execute the work assigned. Working with the other foreman to coordinate staff for best work environment. • Demonstrate solid team leadership skills and assist with fellow employees training and development. • Be accessible for fellow employees to address questions or concerns. • Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving environmental performance. • Ensure company equipment, material, are maintained kept clean and supplies and materials in proper locations and orderly. Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse. • Works with and assists the crew in digging ditches and trenches, hoisting materials, tools, equipment, and any related work. • Must be pleasant to both internal and external customers, while maintaining a professional attitude and demeanor. • Ability to bring the task to completion. • Frequently required to stand, talk, and hear instructions, walk, sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch and or crawl. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision. Color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. • Must dress appropriately for outdoor work and elements, including work boots, long pants, and any other provisions required for spending any duration of time outside in the elements of the seasons in the heat, cold, dry, and or wet conditions. • Good Communication Skills. • Positive & Productive work attitude.
