Calling all bassists! Calling all bassists! The city is opening up and we are getting ready to rock! Who are we? We are The Grey Scales, a straight-up modern rock outfit. We pull from all genres. We focus on original tunes, but don't shy away from our unique take on cover songs. We just released our debut album to critical acclaim and need our final piece to get the wheels really moving. (Our previous bass player left during the pandemic). Once you are up and running, we have gigs at the ready. So logistics! Should be able to meet up at least once a week and have easy access to NYC transportation. We play Monday nights at the music building near Port Authority. Ideally looking for players between 25-45. No hard cut-off here, it's just a general life-experience and musical influence range we have found works well. If you can sing, that's always welcome too, but not required. Influences include: Beatles, Rolling Stones, Hendrix, Foo Fighters, RHCP, Peter Gabriel, Bob Marley, Prince, Michael Jackson, Depeche Mode, Weezer, Black Crowes, Led Zeppelin, Parliament, ACDC, David Bowie, Ray Charles, all Motown, The Clash, Elvis Costello, Dire Straits, GnR, John Butler Trio, Oasis, Springsteen, The Police, Stevie Wonder, Talking Heads, ZZ Top, etc.....
