Title: Janitor Company: NYCOA Location: Manchester, New Hampshire Janitor – NYCOA seeks an industrious and self-motivated Janitor to join their team in Manchester, New Hampshire. The Janitor will be instrumental in ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility, including grounds and fixtures, in addition to contributing to a safe working environment. Primary responsibilities of the Janitor include: • Monitors building and grounds to ensure a neat and clean presentation and environment. • Reporting the need for any major repairs to management. • Reporting and repairing emergency maintenance problems and/or environmental hazards immediately. • Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures. Specific duties include: • Cleans lint, dust, oil, and grease from machines, overhead pipes, and conveyors, using brushes, air hoses, or steam cleaner. • Picks up reusable scrap for salvage in stores in containers. • May pick up refuse from plant grounds and maintain the area by cutting grass or shoveling snow. • May operate an industrial truck to transport materials within the plant. • Performs various cleaning and maintenance activities to include sweeping and mopping all tile surfaces, polish as necessary all floor space, and vacuum carpeted areas. • Ensures all cleaning supplies are stored in appropriate areas. • Cleans restrooms to include disinfecting toilets, sinks, and floors, and restocking restroom supplies as needed. • Removes trash and dispose of in designated areas. • Maintains all equipment to including vacuum cleaners, trash cans, mop buckets, cleaning supplies. • Performs other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or equivalent required. • 2 + years of experience in janitorial, facility maintenance or other directly related experience preferred • Able to withstand constant standing and reaching along with continuous bending, squatting, and walking; frequent kneeling, climbing, sitting; and use of fine motor skills. • Able to lift 55 pounds; frequently lift and carry 25 pounds; work on ladders, staging, or other related equipment. • Able to operator forklifts • Ability to work with minimum supervision, work well with others, and be a team player. • Must use proper LO/TO procedures and wear PPE at all times. SCHEDULE Day Shift. 7 AM – 3:30 PM EST. COMPENSATION/BENEFITS: Starting wage is $17.24 per hour. NYCOA offers an excellent benefits package after 90 days of employment, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid holidays and sick time, and eligibility for 401 K after 6 months.
