Summer Concerts on the Green: James Harris Major support for the summer Concerts on the Green has been provided by the Stonington Village Improvement Association. Rain date Saturday, September 25 at 6pm Join us for a performance by local guitarist and vocalist James Harris. James is known for his unique and interesting interpretations of well know acoustic classics: Beatles, Stones, Dylan, Neil Young; 80’s and 90’s rock with a jazz influence, and a variety of his own compelling original works. Please note: you do not need to bring a ticket on the day; simply give your name to the check-in attendant. Please read the information below to understand what policies will be in place for the concert. Rain Date: If it looks like inclement weather on the day of the concert, we will make the call by noon and update our website event page, as well as send an e-mail to ticket holders. The rain date will be the next day on Saturday at 6 p.m. Parking: Parking in Stonington Borough in the summer can be a challenge. The free lot at Stonington Commons at 32 Water Street will be available until it is full. Residents of Stonington Borough are encouraged to walk. Additional tips can be found here. Seating: We will open for seating at 5 p.m., and you will need to check in with our volunteers at the Northeast corner of the Green. Please bring your own lawn chairs or blankets, as none will be provided. No dogs are allowed on the Stonington Commons Green. Food and Drink: The Stonington Harbor Yacht Club will be selling beer, wine, and sodas from their portable bar, along with snacks. Please feel free to bring your own food, but not your own liquor. Trash cans will be available on the perimeter of the green for your use. Restrooms: Restrooms are available inside La Grua Center. Running Time: Each concert will last approximately one hour, with no intermission. Changing Conditions: We continue to monitor state and federal guidelines and protocols may be adjusted based on state, federal, and arts sector recommendations. La Grua Center is a small nonprofit cultural arts center—open to all—offering a wide variety of concerts, talks, and art exhibitions in a welcoming space located in Stonington Borough.
