New York Adventure Club | www.AdventureClub.com While you might have watched curling on TV during a past Winter Olympics, have you ever wondered what it's like to lunge across the ice with a 'rock' or sweep with a curling broom? Fortunately, a dedicated curling facility located just north of New York City is opening its doors to non-members who want to learn the tips and tricks of this mysterious sport. Are you ready to try your hand at the art of curling with veteran curlers? Join New York Adventure Club for a fun evening of hands-on curling instruction, activities, and games at the Ardsley Curling Club, a historic curling club in Dobbs Ferry, NY that has been the home of curling in Westchester County since its formation in the 1930s. Led by experienced members of the Ardsley Curling Club, our private curling experience will include: Exclusive access to the curling facility for three hours, including two hours on the iceAn overview of curling basics, including off-ice instruction, stretching, equipment setup, and safety informationDedicated on-ice instruction with instructors who will teach you everything from delivery and sweeping to scoring and strategyOver an hour of gameplay, with the opportunity to play a mini-game against other teamsA chance to socialize afterward with your fellow adventurers in the curling club's warm roomWhat are you waiting for? It's time to experience the sport of curling first-hand! See you there! *Transportation to/from Dobbs Ferry, NY is not included. **Comfortable pants and closed-toe shoes are required to participate in the on-ice activities ***Feel free to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks as the facility does not have a restaurant. ****Guests between 12-18 years old can participate in on-ice activity if their liability waiver is signed by a parent or legal guardian. *****Due to COVID-19 protocols, the Ardsley Curling Club will only allow guests who are fully vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus to enter the Club's premises. All participants will be required to wear a suitable face covering both while in the 'warm room' and on the ice. ******After registering, see the 'additional information' section of your order confirmation for other important details. Transportation: *Please double check train departure times the day before as schedules can shift due to track work. By Public Transit: Take the Poughkeepsie Station (Hudson Line) bound Metro-North Train from Grand Central Terminal, and disembark at the Dobbs Ferry Station. While there are typically cabs waiting at the station, an Uber or Lyft can also be taken to the Ardsley Country Club. Once on site, have the taxi drop you off in the parking lot at the top of the path leading down to the curling club — signage should be set up to point you in the right direction. By Car: Free parking is available in the main Ardsley Country Club parking lot. Once parked, walk down the path next to the parking lot toward the club building — signage should be set up to point you in the right direction. For more detailed directions, click here.
