Description
I saw you biking at sunset, crossing the intersection at Arlington and Boston Ave. I waited to turn at the red light; just a brief moment I saw you, waiting to cross to the next block. I’m sure you didn’t see me in my car, you were focused on your route.
You embodied this quintessential look - the classically beautiful woman, romantic and feminine. A linen summer dress, that style that looks well worn and loved, in pale red and beige. You had long wavy brown hair - down despite the windy night - and a face supplely cut out of marble in Roman aesthetic. Dewy skin aglow in the twilight. Eyes set determinedly, maybe a touch of concern, on the street ahead.
I hope you made it home okay, or wherever you were headed to tonight. I hope you know that some stranger thinks you’re beautiful. I hope you see that in yourself, too.
