Experience the new Group Art Exhibition Pre-opens 8/11 (screen Basquiat Radiant Child and more). OPENING Day~EVENING RECEPTION Saturday 8/14 Free and open to the public, Art Gallery 2nd fl. ACP Jr State Bldg. Harlem welcomes you back for creativity and community to experience the visually exciting Group Art Exhibition themed WHAT GOES ON ...BLACK ART RESILIENCE and RADIANCE ~ MARVIN to BASQUIAT AND BEYOND that artistically entwine the lyrics of Marvin Gaye’s (b.4/2/1939) “What’s Goin On” with the philosophical, intellectual and chaotically brilliant mind of Jean~Michel Basquiat (b.12/22/1960) that dwells on “marginalized bodies” and “majestically crowns” Black Identity. The theme seeks to examine the scope of the confluence of turmoil, fragmentation, confusion and chaos that remain current and persistent even beyond Marvin...even beyond Basquiat, through a range of the recently created mixed-media and paintings of the participating local established and emerging artists. The Art Exhibition will be viewable for a total of seven specific dates/times through September 19 during which safety protocols ~temperature check, masking, sanitizing~will be practiced on all dates/ times. Access to the Art Gallery 2nd fl. will require a photo ID and a walk-thru scan by Lobby Security.
