DESCRIPTION Subject matter experts will guide the participants through the pathophysiology and administration of Chimeric Antigen T-Cell Therapy through didactic and hands on skills demonstrations. OBJECTIVES Upon completion of the course, the participant will be able to: Understand patient selection criteria for CAR T-Cell Therapy, its mechanism of action, monitoring requirements, and side effectsDemonstrate line setup, double check procedure, rescue medications, neuro checks, escalation of care, and troubleshootingUnderstand success rates, long-term monitoring, care coordination with the Cancer Cell Therapy team, and the role of the bedside nurseUnderstand Kymriah and special considerations associated with its administrationDemonstrate competency to administer all forms of CAR T-cell therapies CONTINUING EDUCATION This continuing education (CE) course is offered through Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford by the Center for Professional Excellence and Inquiry (CPEI). Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 9713, approved for 3.7 contact hours.Contact hours awarded for full program attendance only. Partial credit will not be given for partial attendance. TARGET AUDIENCE Pediatric hematology and oncology nurses who wish to administer CAR T-Cells and care for patients who have received CAR T-Cell therapy.
