Brad DeVos, Interim President and Director of Programs at the American Institute for Economic Research, will join us to discuss the history of the Bastiat Society. This program, which started as a discussion club here in Charleston, now hosts 200 events each year in 50 cities around the globe. We will discuss the program’s history and purpose, as well as remind ourselves why those who work in freedom should know how freedom works. Eventbrite Registration Required. This event is free and open to the public, but we suggest a donation of $20 to help sustain the chapter. _______________________ More about the speaker: Brad DeVos spent the first nine years of his professional life as an engineer before becoming President and CEO of the Bastiat Society. He has led the Society since 2011, when it was just a single discussion group in Charleston, South Carolina. In 2017, the Bastiat Society was acquired by the American Institute for Economic Research and became its primary outreach program. With its specific mission of engaging business people, it has since spread to nearly 50 cities, hosting over 200 events each year, and attracting thousands of attendees from around the globe. AIER’s Bastiat Society program is a global network of business professionals committed to advancing free trade, individual freedom, and responsible governance.
