WALTHAM, MA —Waltham's RTN Federal Credit Union and RTN GoodWorks Foundation co-sponsored three virtual financial education seminars for high schoolers participating in the Waltham Partnership for Youth's (WPY) Summer Internship Program.
The "Make the Most of Your Money" seminars were presented by RTN's partner American Consumer Credit Counseling (ACCC). to two groups of student interns and covered a wide range of financial concepts and information. The "Work Benefits – Many Options to Choose From" seminar covered information about paychecks as well as the importance of retirement planning and various retirement planning options. All three seminars gave students the opportunity to ask questions and share thoughts.
"The material covered in RTN's seminars will help prepare our interns as they enter the workforce as well as in their own personal lives," said Jaime McAllister-Grande, Career Exploration and Training Program Coordinator for WPY, in a statement. "I'm also happy that RTN was able to host an in-person intern in their Waltham branch this summer and that the intern was such a great fit."
A total of 72 students participated in this summer's seminars, said RTN. The company is also a participating local employer and currently has one of the student interns working at the Waltham branch.
ACCC and RTN GoodWorks Foundation are both 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations dedicated to financial management and wellness. For more information, click here.
