Live outdoor concert & art exhibition featuring Soul/Jazz/Hip Hop Artist Nialand Come out to this FREE event sponsored by the Rebuild Foundation and enjoy a live music concert featuring Soul/Jazz/HipHop Artist Nialand. Nialand is a Chicago and international touring and recording artist who has worked with such artists as, No ID, Roy Ayers, Lupe Fiasco, and is known for her work as the official hype girl to hip hop legend, MC Lyte. Nialand offerings a powerful music experience everytime she hits the stage. Will captivating lyrics, creative presentation, and authentic & smooth vocal stylings, her performance never ceases to be memorable and electrifying. This concert will feature a live band and will take place on the beautiful outdoor terrace. The concert will begin promptly at 4pm with no opening acts. Early arrival suggested. The Stony Island Arts Bank is proud to reopen with a group show as part of the multi-site initiative Toward Common Cause: Art, Social Change, and the MacArthur Fellows Program at 40. The exhibition will be a multifaceted exploration of four areas of inquiry: the natural environment, the built environment, monuments and institutions, identity and representation. This subchapter of Toward Common Cause at Arts Bank will focus primarily on the question of race that has been examined by artists for decades and include pieces by MacArthur Fellows Carrie Mae Weems, Kerry James Marshall, Gary Hill, Whitfield Lovell, Trevor Paglen, Deborah Willis, Dawoud Bey, Fred Wilson and Nicole Eisenman.
