Topics covered in the course are: Prelude to laborLaborSupport techniques to assist the laboring motherVaginal birthMedical proceduresCesarean sectionsPostpartum carePain management optionsNewborn baby carePreparations for going homeTour of the Labor and Delivery unit at Northwest Health - La PorteThe last one hour of class will focus on Natural Childbirth. This is for the expectant mother who is interested in a non-medicated birth plan and wants to use the whirlpool tubs for water labor. Class sizes are limited to 8 people. You are welcome to bring a support person. Advanced registration is required for both mother and support person. Those attending are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing. Masks are required.
