Description

MARBLEHEAD, MA — With soaring temperatures comes a soaring need for energy — which could mean a soaring utility bill next month. The Marblehead Municipal Light Company is looking to help mitigate that by asking residents to conserve energy in the afternoon during this week's heatwave to avoid the need for excess surge capacity power. Residents are asked to avoid any unnecessary uses of power during the hours of 4 to 7 p.m. through Friday. That would include avoiding doing laundry, running the dishwasher and other related activities. These are the hours of highest demand and delaying these activities until after 7 helps spread out the energy burden and reduces the need for surge capacity energy. Did you find this article useful?
