Workshop Description: Filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, is one of the most important steps students and their families can take to pay for college.The FAFSA is the financial aid form used to access grants, federal student loans and work-study funds. Each year, more than $24 BILLION dollars of financial aid goes unclaimed because many students and parents feel anxious about filling out the application. To ease those fears and put anxious feelings to rest, GEAR UP Georgia at Columbus State University has teamed up with H&R Block to host informational FAFSA workshops. We will walk participants through the process of preparing for, completing, and submitting a FAFSA form including information on what happens after the form is submitted.
