"Storytime" for kids, but better. Imagine a “Reading Rainbow”-like experience where every child feel seen, loved, and valued.
Families! Join us on Friday, September 10 from 7-8 pm for our first monthly Book Party in partnership with Black Men Read, where we bring stories of the African diaspora to our youngest readers (preK-5th grade).
Wait..what’s a Book Party?
Book Parties are “Storytime” for kids, but better. Imagine a “Reading Rainbow”-like experience where every child feel seen, loved, and valued as we celebrate Black men as storytellers and community leaders. Visit bmrkids.org for more information on this incredible local non-profit.
Black Men Read Book Parties have been a staple of Washtenaw County since 2016. And if you’ve been, you know what a magical experience they can be for young readers and families.
Mark your calendar for the second Friday of every month so you and your kiddos won’t miss a moment!
Health and safety protocols…
Masks are required of all Booksweet customers during Book Parties, regardless of vaccination status or whether they are attending the event. We will plan to be outside in September, using fun social distancing tactics to help the kids feel connected, even if they have to be a few more feet apart than they’d like.
