Join us for a guided beer tasting with River St. Joe owners/brewers up in the mezzanine at 7 Monks - Grand Rapids. 7 Monks is excited to host River St. Joe, a farmstead brewery based in Southwest Michigan, for an evening of all things Saison. Join us as we explore the history of the style and drink through its modern interpretations with River St. Joe Co-Founder Brian Dougherty and Head Brewer Brandon MacClaren. Expect their Rye Saison, Sunset Saison, and Wheat Saison along with a few other surprises. These rustic beers express a sense of place with ingredients grown directly on River St. Joe's Flatwater Farms property. On top of that, they're just plain delicious. We hope you'll gain a deeper appreciation of the style through this course. Ticket includes the guided beer tasting and a paired charcuterie board with select meats and cheeses. We look forward to seeing you! 7 Monks opened in Traverse City in 2011 when there were only 7 trappist monasteries brewing beer at the time. The name remains although the number of trappist breweries continues to increase across the world. We proudly serve world class beer, fantastic food and offer an atmosphere where you can comfortably enjoy any of our offerings! We have fifty-one rotating taps, over 100 craft bottles/cans, and a full bar. Our Grand Rapids location opened its doors to a wonderful and welcoming community in 2017.
