The youth and staff at the Children's Village in Mexico remain safe and healthy. We are maintaining our stringent health and safety procedures. This summer break means sticking close to home, and the schedule often includes hiking; small, local (and masked!) excursions; experimenting in the kitchen; and, yes, even summer school work. Some of the older children are taking language lessons to learn and practice English. Stay tuned! We'll be sharing how you can help the kids prepare for the 2021-2022 school year. So many moving parts at our Reservation Children's Village! We're actively hiring and seeking a Clinical Coordinator, Village Manager, additional foster parents, and relief caregivers (more details below). Every day, we are closer to welcoming youth into our care, but we need core staff in place to fully support this initiative. The building of the Village campus continues. As seen in the photos above and below, you'll see privacy fencing, additional landscaping, new parking pads and a central driveway - an impressive 16,000 square feet of concrete! Having easy, reliable access to the Village is a convenience in the harsh terrain, heavy snows, and "gumbo" soils of the Plains and a necessary aspect of our safety management infrastructure. Next up: completing the paving; pouring the foundations for additional foster homes, our therapy building, and a much-needed storage building; a walk-through of our fully-furnished second foster home; and more!
