Description
From humble beginnings in 1982, the Chinese Culture and Community Service Center Inc. (CCACC) has grown into one of the well-known nonprofit community organizations in the Washington metropolitan area, by providing a wide variety of services through Adult Day Healthcare, Clinic Healthcare, Home Care, Youth Education, Art and Culture Promotion, Nutrition Program, Adult Literacy Program, Tax Filing Service, Occupational Assistance, etc. for seniors, youths, low-income, non-native English speakers, and any individuals in need. As one of the few non-profit community organizations administered by Chinese-Americans in the Washington Metropolitan area, CCACC continues to develop towards the benchmark in full directions, striving to improve the quality and quantity of our community services. After nearly 39 years of development, the center's diversified range of services has benefited all age groups from toddlers to seniors, roughly over 100,000 beneficiaries each year. In order to expand the breadth and depth of services, the center has re-integrated the six service departments in May 2021 as follows: CCACC Adult Day Healthcare Center (ADHC) – Deliver comprehensive day care to the seniors; CCACC Home Care – Provide reliable individualized home care; CCACC Health Center - Expand health care and voluntary clinic services; CCACC Academy - Enhance the youth education and planned professional training; CCACC Art Gallery – Display diverse exhibits and promote artistic appreciation; CCACC Community Services Center – Promote culture exchanges and enhance community welfare, including club activities, facility rental, free tax filing, ESOL courses, Evergreen Club, etc. It is worth mentioning that since the COVID-19 pandemic began, CCACC has been upholding its beliefs to expand and explore various services: Providing meal delivery, medical treatments, and daily phone check-in for the seniors in ADHC; Setting up a new COVID information phone line in Chinese to provide accurate information for the community; Offering COVID relief information consultation service for the residents and small businesses in need with the application for government relief projects; Hosting or co-hosting multiple webinars to provide information on relief, health and education; Assisting the Red Cross in organizing the blood drive activities; Providing nutritious meals and online activities for Evergreen members; Adopting virtual method for VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) services and teaching projects; Promoting the 2020 census in the community; Actively responding to anti-Asian hate crimes, and more. CCACC has been playing an important role during the global fight against COVID-19. Besides donating more than 20,000 surgical masks to the frontline organizations, and opening up clinic services to the whole community, CCACC, authorized as the first community organization, has hosted multiple COVID vaccination clinics since February 2021, helping nearly two thousand residents get fully vaccinated. Starting May of this year, facilities in CCACC headquarter were gradually opened to the public in accordance with relevant government regulations. We are thrilled to add the facilities from CCACC Academy at 9400 Key West Avenue, Rockville, MD 20850 for more community services and activities. CCACC's mission is to enhance the quality of life and well-being of Chinese Americans and the community at large, to promote the awareness of Chinese culture and appreciation of cultural diversity, to facilitate the assimilation of Chinese immigrants into American society, and to advance coalitions in community development and building. Embraced with the core values of care, serve and thrive, CCACC is committed to improve, expand, strengthen and explore the service programs to bring the community together.
