Description
FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — After disseminating child pornography twice in just over a year, a Bucks County man was given the maximum sentence on Wednesday.
Kenneth Richard Roberts III, a 26-year-old from Falls Township, will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life and will serve between 3 ½ and 7 years in state prison for his second charge of disseminating child pornography.
When Roberts was charged in August of 2020, he was already serving time for another child pornography case. He had been sentenced to between three and 23 months in prison.
Bucks County Detective David Coyne began an investigation after receiving a cybertip on Feb. 26 from a social networking website, that indicated that two images of child pornography were posted on Jan. 4 from an account associated with a person in Levittown. Coyne completed and executed administrative subpoenas and search warrants, and linked the account to Roberts.
At the time, Roberts was awaiting a court hearing for a July 2019 child pornography arrest by the Falls Township Police Department.
Roberts pleaded guilty to the new charge of dissemination of child pornography on April 22. Common Pleas Judge Diane E. Gibbons handed down the maximum sentence on Wednesday, saying that Roberts still has not accepted the seriousness of his conduct.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Sarah K. Heimbach.
