Bicycle Burglary Suspects Take $1K In Tools, Police Say

MARINA DEL REY, CA — A man and woman on bicycles broke into a Marina del Rey apartment garage and used bolt cutters to take $1,000 worth of tools from a storage unit, the Los Angeles Police Department said this week. The burglary happened Aug. 6 at 5:40 p.m. in the 4200 block of Del Rey Avenue, just north of Maxella Avenue, police said. The suspects entered the garage, then used a bolt cutter to remove an estimated $1,000 worth of tools, police said. Authorities are asking the public to help identify the two suspects. Officials from the LAPD Pacific Division this week released two images of the suspects. Surveillance video captured the two suspects on bicycles. Police describe one suspect as a 30 to 35 Black man with a beard and riding a red bicycle. Police describe the other suspect as a woman age 30 to 35 wearing a gray beanie with two pom-poms and red shoes. She had a bicycle with thick tires, possibly an electric bicycle. No further suspect descriptions or information was provided.
