TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department says a pedestrian died from his injuries around 2 a.m. Thursday after being struck by a vehicle on 15th Street Wednesday night.

TPD said the driver of the vehicle was traveling east on 15th Street at 8:15 p.m. when he saw the victim, 33, standing in the roadway near 33rd Avenue. He was unable to stop before striking him going roughly 35 miles per hour — according to the driver and witnesses.
The man killed has not been identified at this time.
TPD says it does not appear that any criminal actions contributed to this accident, which remains under investigation.
