Leeds Man Found Dead At Cahaba River

IRONDALE, AL — A short search for a man reported missing at the Cahaba River ended when Irondale police found the man dead Wednesday. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has identified him as 29-year-old Kevin Lee Self of Leeds. Police say Self dove into the river in the recreational area near Grants Mill Road Wednesday afternoon, but never surfaced. Irondale police conducted a search around 4 p.m. Wednesday and were able to find Self's body nearby.
