Machine, Equipment, Loader Operator Job Duties: The Equipment Operator operates a variety of equipment used in the company’s composting/mixing & blending facilities, such as grinders, loaders, excavators, and forklifts. The operator also oversees some of the staff and operations at the site and assists the site supervisor with various tasks. Location: Sacramento and other locations throughout Northern and Central California Hours: 7am – 3:30pm M-F, some Saturdays 7am – 3pm. Overtime as needed. Environment: 50% in loader or other equipment, 50% outdoors assisting with tasks as needed Competencies: - Experience operating a loader or other heavy equipment, or a desire to learn - Ability to work successfully with a team - Desire to learn new skills and to teach others - Technical Capacity - Communication proficiency - Thoroughness - Time Management Other responsibilities include: - Operate equipment of various types used in the company’s operations - Follow company and OSHA safety procedures. - Follow daily procedures and protocols as set forth in orientation and safety trainings - Perform routine inspection and maintenance on assigned equipment and communicate defects or needed repairs to the Operations Supervisor - Clean and maintain equipment - Assist in training lower-level employees performing the maintenance and repair duties as required or assigned - Assist in the installation and maintenance of traffic controls. Control traffic at worksites by flagging to guide traffic through work areas, as required or assigned Benefits: Pay depends upon experience.
