Help! No A/C for 5 days my dogs & I are hot!!

So, my central a/c unit went out Sunday in the house I rent from my ex-husband. Since he lets me rent it for about 1/2 of what the house would rent for (now that I've fixed it up where it's livable), my ex won't help me out at all with getting a new unit. He draws more on retirement than I made while I was working. I only draw $1100 on disability. He doesn't go without anything, and he shouldn't he worked hard all his life. I also worked all my life and I don't feel like I should go without a/c either especially since I have 3 dogs and my granddaughter part of the time. I can't take much more of this heat; it is stifling hot in here! If anyone can help with a (very) cheap 110 window a/c unit or if anyone has a central unit I could put in "layaway" I would greatly appreciate being passed the information. Thanks so much for reading and thanks in advance for any help you can provide. I can do some work to trade for a/c also.
