Day Porter Public Works Department HP#2022-26 Pay Salary Range: $35,493– $46,707 Starting salary is $35,493 – $43,183 (depending upon qualifications), plus full benefits package Full-time, non-exempt position The closing date for this position is 11:59 p.m., Sunday, August 22, 2021. We are looking for a member of the Day Porter team that will work positively and collaboratively with City staff and Facilities Maintenance in cleaning and maintaining City buildings. In this position you will perform day porter duties, which includes janitorial tasks, and respond to building needs in a timely and effective manner. Some of these tasks may include: • Assisting staff with special requests by customers i.e. help with events, meetings, set ups, tear downs, moving tables/chairs, etc.; • Maintaining public restrooms: cleaning and sanitizing, stocking all supplies, picking up larger paper debris, wiping down counters, and maintaining general good appearance; • Ensuring parking lots/walk ways are clean. Walking the campus daily to pick/sweep up debris; • Maintaining security of facilities, equipment, keys and supplies issued. General Statement of Duties The principal function of an employee in this class is to perform basic janitorial duties and provide customer service for liaisons of assigned buildings or facilities during operational hours. Acceptable Experience and Training High School Diploma or GED and two years janitorial experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Licensing/Certifications • Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record; • Blood borne Pathogens training – must complete within six months of hire; • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. EOE
