Caregiving for seniors is different than caregiving for other age groups. As an exceptional caregiver you identify with what is important to seniors; as you age your perspective on what is important changes just as it has for the senior you care for. You are able to carry on a meaningful conversation and enjoy the simple things. You have learned throughout the years that you are or may be gifted at working with seniors with dementia. You are a really good cook because you inherited the ability to cook well or developed it because you had picky family members whose pallets you had to please. So when a senior's appetite is poor you know that the sense of smell may stimulate his/her appetite and you are pleased by how much more she/he is eating.
