Description
Pair of ~4in long Siamese Algae Eater (Crossocheilus siamensis), Tank-Bred from AquaticArts.com.
These two gents have finally gotten too big for my small aquarium.
As they age they get a little more preference for meaty foods, so while I love their pretty dorsal fins and how active they are voraciously munching on any surface algae; I'm not so fond of how they've started harassing (removing their legs - they need those!) my dwarf shrimp. These fish like to establish territories and will become quite fond of anyone who walks up the tank to feed them. They'd be happiest in a tank 30 gallons and above, full of plants or decor they can interact with. Tank lid recommended, because of how speedy they are.
1st image not mine, but shows the adult body form. 2nd from last year, when they were still wee lads.
Take 'em, please!
