Hello! I’m going to try to keep this as short as possible, and you can always ask any questions you have! My Jeep Patriot had the timing belt go out back in May right after I had medical clearance To go back to work from breaking my leg..so I was already in a financially tight situation. I had no choice but to go through my dealerships warranty and they took 10 weeks just to get my car back with an “ new engine replacement “. We finally picked up our car on Monday and it had issues getting started.. We thought maybe it was a bad battery or battery connection/ wires etc. After replacing the the connections a mobile mechanic had seen that the starter wasn’t even secured, it was kind of hanging with a bunch of wires from under the engine and almost as if the original mechanic tried to hide it ! With further inspection it’s clear that everything was not secured down, our alternator was loose and our oil was low and many other small things that show the job was not done thoroughly. Now usually I’d LOVE to just take the car back and make them fix their mistakes but I do NOT have time from them to “work on it” for the next 3 months again.. I’m supposed to move this Saturday with NOWHERE to go because they promised me this was ready to go! I spent the very last of my money that was supposed to be for me to move to get this mobile mechanic to fix it yesterday. I’mNOT asking for free work, I’m asking if anyone at all out here could please help me. PLEASE I’ve never been in this bad of a situation before and I have nothing to fall back on. So ANY advice on what to do towards the last mechanic for taking 3 months wasting time with my car, he was caught in multiple lies, we are looking into small claims court just seems to not be a whole lot of information on this subject online. If I could find someone that could actually finish/ fix it and let me make payments or a trade or SOMETHING appropriate it would SAVE me huge. I’m a CNA, currently doing food deliveries to make ends meet.
