Now Hiring Experienced Yard Goat Shift: 1ST Location: Redlands,Ca Pay$18.00+ Depending on Experince As a Driver Hostler, you’ll be responsible for the effective daily coordination and movement of inbound and outbound containers/trailers within the yard along with any other duties determined by the Operations or Senior Ops. Manager. All candidates will need to have a high attention to detail. They should also have the ability to work well without direction and abiding by all safety policies and guidelines, and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including, but not limited to, the following. Conduct a visual and operational inspection of equipment prior to use. Ensure written inspections concerns are documented and ensure any vehicle safety concerns are addressed immediately to building Management. Perform daily yard checks. Monitoring the yard for potential safety hazards such as bolt seals, nails, broken pallets and debris. Reporting any property damage, dock safety concerns, damaged trailers immediately to building management. Direct drivers to designated doors or locations and verify all containers/trailers are chocked before loading and unloading. Perform other duties as assigned by Managers. Qualifications Must pass a Drug Test. Save driving record (MVR). Have at least 2 years of experience in a related field. Ability to read and interpret documents such as packing slips, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must be able to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction and multiplication. Must be able to understand basic directions written in English. Forklift Operator-cont. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
