Participants will curb step for 1980 steps to commemorate the 110 flights of stairs fire fighters and 1st responders climbed on Sept 11 2001 Please join us on September 11, 2021, to Honor our Heroes with a Fundraiser and Memorial Service at The North East Fire Company 210 S. Mauldin Ave. North East Md. 21901. During the September 11 attacks in 2001, 2,977 people were killed and more than 6,000 others were injured. Of those who perished, 344 were firefighters; 71 law enforcement officers and 55 military personnel. Step Fundraiser starts at 7 AM. Steppers will use the curbs on Mauldin Ave to climb 1980 steps each to commemorate the 110 flights of stairs that the Fire Fighters and First Responders climbed that day. A $30 entry fee or pledges equal to $30 or greater are required for participation. ALL proceeds benefit the North East Fire Company. First wave of stepping: 7-8:30 AM Memorial service begins at 8:30 AM National Moment of Silence 8:46 AM Bells ring 8:47 AM Prayer of Protection for our Police, Fire Fighters and First Responders - Father John Saint Mary Anne's Episcopal Church Amazing Grace- Olivia Reynolds Second wave of stepping: 9-10:30 AM All State Covid protocols will be followed!! If you would rather not step, a proxy stepper can be designated, and All Donations are appreciated!!!
