Join WTS-DC for a bike tour of well-designed bike facilities throughout the District! District of Columbia infrastructure is being improved every year—this educational tour will travel along some of the best designed bike facilities in Washington, DC. A primer for planners and designers alike, the route will include the iconic Pennsylvania Avenue cycle track and newer facilities along 11th, 14th, and 15th Streets. The tour route is 4.8 miles long and takes approximately 35 minutes to complete if riding continuously. Please arrive at 8:45 AM. We will depart the meeting spot at 9:00 AM. Participants will need to bring their own bikes, helmets, and water bottles or snacks. Attendance is at the attendee’s own risk, and attendees assume all risk of COVID exposure and COVID-related illnesses. Location: The tour will begin near the Capitol at the northwest corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and 1st Street NW and end in the same area. A map of the tour route is provided below. For 40 years, WTS-DC has provided opportunities for transportation professionals to connect with one another and grow in their careers. Our membership includes planners, engineers, landscape architects, policy makers, government leaders, outreach professionals, students, and others committed to promoting the WTS mission of “transforming the transportation industry through the advancement of women.”
