A conversation with Jennifer Keishin Armstrong, author of "When Women Invented Television" Jennifer Keishin Armstrong, author of When Women Invented Television: The Untold Story of the Female Powerhouses Who Pioneered the Way We Watch Today, reveals the overlooked stories of four women who broke barriers and new ground in giving us the soap opera, the daytime talk show, the sitcom, and the variety show. Armstrong is the New York Times best-selling author of Seinfeldia: How the Show About Nothing Changed Everything and Sex and the City and Us: How Four Single Women Changed the Way We Think, Live, and Love. Books will be available for purchase. This is an in-person event. In accordance with New York City mandate, all guests must have received a COVID-19 vaccine. Proof of vaccine (CDC card or photo, Excelsior Pass, CLEAR Health Pass, or other digital record) will be required. RSVP does not guarantee entry. Please arrive 30 minutes early to check in. Our coat check is limited. Please do not bring any large bags or backpacks.
