For more information about our company and what we offer please visit us at www.gardenersguild.com THE OPPORTUNITY We are looking for an experienced, Account Manager professional to join our team! Supervise, direct, and manage certain administrative and operations and ensure that company professional standards and contract requirements are maintained while satisfying clients, developing employees and managing both direct and indirect budget requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES • Supervise all Maintenance contracts and Work Orders to ensure successful and profitable contract performance while maintaining satisfied, long-term customer relationships. Communicate daily work with crew leaders to ensure that daily operations are met. This may include morning check of vehicles for necessary materials and equipment, discussion of job priorities, schedule changes, color, and labor needs, etc. Design, formulate and administer long-range plans for all sites and division operations. Performs yard monitor and on-call duties as assigned. • Manage variable overhead expenses of division to budget while ensuring training, communication, and necessary work occurs in division. • Maintain daily paperwork such as timecards, Field Note Sheets, Work Orders, Integrated Pest Management (IPM) records, maintenance bids, etc. Manage daily scheduling and coordinate long-term scheduling with OM/COO and use good and professional judgment when the OM/COO isn't available. • Maintain a reporting system to keep the OM/COO informed of the division's personnel issues and job-related field problems. • Manage and oversee water management practices that result in water conservation and excellent horticultural practices at designated sites. • Monitor all designated sites for potential and existing pest problems and manage and coordinate scheduling of appropriate treatments and cultural activities, as well as any necessary company reports, in a timely manner. • Oversee the maintenance of vehicles, vehicle inventories and other related tools and equipment used by designated crews. Control losses and damage. • Serve as Account Representative on designated sites: Proactively communicate with clients on a regular basis including timely call backs, quarterly landscape highlights, designated walk-throughs, summaries of meetings and other appropriate contact. Resolve client problems in a professional and timely manner which ensures customer satisfaction. Communicate to client all potential hazards or problems which may require the client’s attention; serious hazards should also be communicated in writing. Perform quality control site reviews on designated jobs on a regular and routine basis. • Notify Operations Manager or Chief Operating Officer of existing problems and/or service issues which may put the account at risk. • Prepare or assist in preparing estimates for work orders, rebids, and new bids in conjunction with the COO, OM, or Sales Manager. Participate in sales presentations. • Manage and administer the division's employee relations issues (hiring, training, counseling, development, promotion, and terminations) to develop and retain highly qualified personnel and to promote excellent job performance. • Develop and manage a specialty area within the company, as agreed to by the COO. • Implement and monitor the company's Injury Prevention Program to promote a safe work environment. QUALIFICATIONS • Broad knowledge of horticulture. • Strong organizational, time management and paperwork skills. • Valid California driver's license and a driving record rated insurable by the company's insurance carrier. • Proven ability to read blueprints and specifications, do take-offs and prepare bids for additional work and maintenance bids. • Proficient in all Gardener's and Crew Leader's duties. • Working knowledge of Gardeners' Guild policies and procedures. • Flexible and able to meet overtime and unusual demands of position. • Demonstrates supervisory skills and professionalism in all areas of the job. • Certified Landscape Technician certificates; see Job Family. • Affiliation and participation in industry organizations. • Continual education in landscape, horticultural or related areas. • A college degree in Ornamental Horticulture or related field, or equivalent. • Working knowledge of computer systems.
