ChessPalace is hosting a beginner’s non-rated tournament. Open to all ages in the beginner levels of chess playing. Our chess club, ChessPalace, is hosting an amateur chess tournament at SteelCraft Garden Grove on Sunday, August 15 and also again on Sunday, August 29. Open to beginner players of all ages, this event is a great way to start playing chess with others over the board or to get introduced to tournament play. (Beginners are approximately 1000 or below in chess rating or complete novices without a chess rating.) Players will be allocated to a group of 4-8 players (depending on the total registrants) and they will play each opponent in their group. Sign in at 9:45 am - 10:15 am and games starts 10:30 AM Chess boards and pieces will be available to borrow. If you would like to bring your own, you’re welcome to as well. Entry Fee: $35 ($40 onsite) ChessPalace is a chess club in the Orange County, California area. We are located at 5246 Lampson Ave. Garden Grove, CA near where the 405 freeway and the 22 freeway intersect. We host chess tournaments, offer classes and lessons, and sell chess books and merchandise.
